| Sitting next to the former Great Northern depot at Fergus Falls, MN (the new home of MNN) is Minnesota Northern GP9 1848. Built in January of 1959 as Nickel Plate Road #814, this "boomer" loco then bounced to the N&W as #2814, then DME as #1484 before landing on the Minnesota Northern roster. Twelve years after this photo was taken, the loco would again be sold to independent Locomotive Service as their #1323. Eric Berg photo |
