Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dzobko, Jr., that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 16 August 1956. Prominent here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8596 and #8597. Both are AS-16M road switchers built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1955 and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. Partially visible in the background is Juniata's 17th Street Bridge; just beyond it at the right is the East Altoona Roundhouse. |
