One of the most famous Pennsylvania GG1's is #4859. It has the distinction of pulling the first electric train to Harrisburg on January 15, 1938. To honor that moment, it now is preserved in the passenger shed at Harrisburg, PA, station. No date or photographer was listed for this photo but many photographers have taken nearly identical photos from the staircase leading down. |
