Louisville & Nashville train No. 10 had just crossed the New Orleans Terminal Co. (Southern Railway) at N.O.T. Tower on its way out of New Orleans. Here it was negotiating a sharp S-curve on temporary trackage around the construction of an underpass at Franklin Avenue. The 264 was one of 26 K-5 class USRA light Pacifics, and it was the first of eight K-5's (264-271) built by Baldwin in 1923. (approximate day of photo) |
