Interesting long locomotive similar to a Baldwin center cab caught sitting on an industrial spur in Indianapolis, IN. This "Hoosier" unit was built by Lima-Hamilton in September, 1951 for the Pennsylvania RR. According to Wikipeida "The LT-2500 was the final locomotive model produced by Lima-Hamilton before the company merged with the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1951. All examples of the LT-2500 locomotives were scrapped, and none are known to have been preserved." Unknown photographer |
