| Two sets of transfer power pause at the Missouri Pacific's engine house at Avondale Yard, just across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. The set on the left includes MP15DC 1554, the last of ten such units (1545-1554) built for the MP in February and March 1975 and initially assigned here. The set on the right includes L&N GP30 1013, L&N GP9 526, MP GP15-1 1612 and an unidentified Mop geep. The diesel shop was built shortly after WWII, and was razed after it was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. |
