I know this is a distance shot and not the best but thought it was really cool finding out the history of this unit. This units history: Built: May 1974 for the Milwaukee Road #200, then became Soo Line #6387, at some point became Dakota, Minnesota Eastern # 6387, after DME was done with the unit Helm Leasing picked up the unit and it became HLCX #6213. Now with the Norfolk Southern buying "new/old" SD units and putting them into service it sits here in the Alton & Southerns Gateway Yard with a black patch and the HLCX crossed out to become NS 3505. Cant wait to see her with the NS Horsehead paint job and running the rails! |
