Having some serious problems figuring out my new lens - I bought a factory refurbished 50mm Nikon lens without autofocus. When I use it fully open (f1.8) or nearly so in low light for railroad shots (which are nearly always at infinity), they don't come out in focus. I know the depth of field is very shallow at f1.8, but it shouldn't matter at infinity. the lens does have a range finder feature, and it tells me the lens is in focus. Something wrong with the lens or me? BTW, all but one of the other photos in this album was taken with another lens. Should've used that one for this shot as well. |
