Metropolitan Transit Authority-Central coach 2452 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1938 as Santa Fe 14-section sleeper HAKATAI. It was one of six Plan 4065 cars in PS lot 6532, and all of these were remodeled into 44-seat coaches 2950-2955 in 1955. They were sold to the MTA in 1970 where their capacity was increased to 78 seats and they were renumbered 2450-2455. The 2452 was retired in 1977 as a result of wreck damage. (approximate month) |
