262 redux |
Description: |
The 262 I saw on the way to breakfast got to Watts and then canned. It later got a recrew, and rolled on south, ahead of a coal train. Here it is seen from the US 59 shoulder as it approaches Westville. Interestingly, the DPU on this train was consecutive to the trailing unit, CP 8612. Go figure. |

Taking the siding |
Description: |
We were headed up to Gentry for breakfast. When we got to the Lincoln St crossing, there was a southbound approaching, which turned out to be the 262 train, here taking the siding for a northbound that we didnt wait for, The tele view brings in the Cobb mill, a mile or so to the north, just beyond Country Club Rd. This would not be the only encounter with this train today. |
