Album Info:After catching NMED at Monmouth Charles & I drove down the road a few miles and caught the entire consist arriving at Leeds Jct. The Cressy Road Xing, at the east end of the Jct, gave better light & perspective on the train. Years ago the Farmington Branch went south across the Maine Central Back Road, just a few hundred feet west of this crossing, and on down to join the Lewiston Lower Road at Crowleys Jct. Regular daily north south passenger & freight service between Brunswick & Farmington was in place over that line into the 40s. Today the tracks are long gone between Livermore Falls & Farmington and The Rumford Branch now heads north thru Livermore Falls and on to the paper mill at Rumford. /DL
